Teppanyaki Grow Ueno - Bunkyo

I went to this place at 27/1, to have the A5 wagu beef lobster set was very disappointed. We came on time but no staff come to greeting and just a cook ask us to seat next to the front door was very cold. We ask for the staff and no response to the cold room temperature until we ask the third times. The set is a scam, the beef is not A5 wagu beef we ask for the certificate and the cook gave us a sticker from the refrigerator. What a joke. Only the about 0.005mm thick beef sushi is wagu beef, what a shame to the owner Don’t ever go there if you know what is wagu beef.

The best meal I've ever had. From the beginning we felt welcome. The service was incredibly professional but charming, calm and very appropriate to the situation that we were in. The food... We chose the Ultimate menu, it was her birthday and we wanted something good. Our expectations were exceeded to an amazing extent. I've eating in Michelin starred restaurant and this place puts them to shame. A brilliantly conceived menu with pin-point accurate cooking delivered with a calm reassuring ease that raised and enhanced our experience. Each dish was described and perfectly presented. We were there at the same time as a Japanese couple that were also celebrating a birthday and they joined us in celebrating a Grand occasion. I took quite a lot of effort to book this meal and it turned out to be effort well spent. You only live once and eating here has been for us one of the great events in our life I kid you not. Many thanks to the staff and chefs that made this happen for us.

Our server, also use to be a chef, Koji Matsushita, has tremendous exceptional customer service. He speak well English. There were two chefs, sorry for forgetting your names. They did a wonderful job preparing our meal. Food is great. I do recommend the kobe beef over the other waygu beef, but of course very similar.

Food was incredible and the bar seats were open so we didn't need a reservation. Chef was nice, made me one of the best meals I've had and service was good. Sitting at the bar and watching the chef work was also a nice treat. Will be talking about this meal when discussing my travel. We got the 7 course menu and everything was amazing. The wagyu was perfect.

This was an outstanding experience. The food was absolutely amazing, the chef and his whole team are dedicated food lovers. They know their products are top quality. Of course it's not the cheapest in the area but it's probably the best.
