Famous Dave's -b-que - Winnipeg

My recent visit was a bit of a mixed experience. The service was excellent, and our meals were served promptly, but the quality of the food varied significantly. Unfortunately, the brisket and rib ends were both extremely dry, as if they had been leftover from the previous night. This was during lunch, so I’m unsure if this is typical for that time of day. We also had to return the wings because they were stale. The mac and cheese resembled overcooked boxed mac and cheese and was inedible. The fries and corn were decent, but the cornbread muffin stood out as the only moist and flavorful item. The sausage reminded me of bulk sausage from Costco. I’m intrigued to give it another try during dinner since there seems to be potential in the flavors, but the meat really needs to be better prepared.

The rib tips are absolutely delicious! The sausage is good but a bit on the salty side. The fried shrimp is also very tasty.

I was very pleased with the service and the food. I will definitely taste more of their dishes on my next visit.

Sit down full service dining unlike the US that is typically counter Service. This location also accepts reservations.Overall very good. Had the feast with brisket for 3 adults and two kids. There was enough leftovers for easily one extra meal. Only compliant was the original portion of brisket was a joke, three small slices. This was brought to the servers attention and he brought out a proper portion of about 6 slices.Brisket was super tender, light smoke. Ribs had good pull of the bone. Chicken was moist and flavorful. In-laws really enjoyed it. My wife had the 1 meat combo and had the fried cod. Portion was good, 6 pieces, crispy but still moist. Decent alternative for those that do not eat meat. The onion strings were hot and crispy, good as an appetizer an also a crunchy topping for the BBQ.Restaurant is very big, we had to wait 30 min to be seated, not sure why as their was space, maybe to pace the kitchen and servers. Ample parking. Worth a visit, this may be the best BBQ in Winnipeg.

We came here often but have become very disappointed with the obvious cut backs and poor service. Recently we went there and ordered the feast for two.. the corn bits they offer in the meal tasted like they have been sitting in pot water all day (no taste at all). Also the beans were all sauce. I could have counted the beans in the bowl lol The table service was also disappointing (slow day to boot) ...things such as forgetting drinks+appy, not offering sauces and bringing things very late into the meal. When the sauces finally came to us we were mostly done eating and we had to laugh because we just got 3 random flavors not even ones we wanted if we got to choose. Not a good time but I really hope this place goes back on the upswing soon
